MISSION AND GOALS:
Our mission here is to educate people about the animals in this area and to give everyone a chance to see these beautiful creatures up close. All of these animals are non-releasable due to a variety of reasons. Some were born in captivity and must remain in captivity, some were orphaned as babies, while others are here due to wrong choices made by individuals. Our goal is to keep them as happy and content as possible. By educating people who are interested in wildlife, we can help to preserve their existence.

| A visit to the family friendly Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park, five miles south of Pagosa Springs Colorado on US Hwy 84, is a special outing. A half mile trail wanders among the large, natural landscape cages which house bears, mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes and wolves, and Bob the bull elk. The most popular time to come is feeding time, 4PM in summer or 2PM in winter. The Main building also houses a gift shop and a gallery of original western and wildlife art. Visitors who are adventurous can arrange to take a trail ride on Dick Ray's well-mannered trail horses. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children The Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park is a privately owned facility in operation since 1986. Our purpose is to educate people about the wildlife in this area and to give people theopportunity to see such wildlife up close in what would be their natural habitats. This facility receives no state or federal funding and operates solely on donations, admission and sales proceeds. |
